uniqueness #3 – shoes & getting ready location – dayton wedding photographer

this week for our #3 wedding unique-ness i’ve decided to focus on shoes and getting ready location! so girls..get ready to some of the most unique shoes of the year! these shoes are hot tamales! i only wish i could wear heals like this and walk for more than 5 minutes, haha! when choosing the shoes for your wedding dress there are lots of things to take into consideration, style, color, statement, comfort, bling, no bling, more bling, ect. well, brook definitely made a statement with these shoes and they are ‘blinged’ out! love it! i definitely feel like i photographed her shoes a lot more than i normally do, how could you not?! they’re that pretty! here’s a peak at brook’s shoes for her wedding day: scroll down to see the second half of this week’s wedding uniqueness!

When planning your wedding it is definitely important to make sure you have a place to get ready. A lot of venues and churches have bridal rooms that you can get dressed in and even get your make up done on location.  Having a nice, pretty atmosphere to get ready in is definitely something to consider for your photography and wedding album.  Brook chose a stunning location to get ready at.  The available light was A+!  Having this allowed us to get some great bridal shots before the Bride and Groom met for their alone time and ‘first look’.

Thanks for checking out this week’s wedding unique-ness, I’ll be posting these every Tuesday! See you next week!

uniqueness #2 – artificial flowers and ceremony – dayton wedding photographer

i had so much fun posting a wedding unique-ness last week that i thought it would be something fun to do every week! so i got to thinking about other uniqueness-es throughout our wedding season last year and i immediately thought of my sister’s wedding.  she had TWO wedding uniqueness-es!:)The very first one that came to my mind was her ceremony, they got married at the same place they had their reception so the floor was very open for her ceremony.  She decided to get married ‘in the round’. all of the chairs were in a circle around the bride and groom.  the bridal party was not lined up in your standard line, they were also standing around the bride and groom. this created a very neat and intimate feeling for their wedding ceremony. everyone had a clear view of the bride and groom. it also gave guests a unique feeling during the ceremony, made them feel closer and invited into their ceremony. below is the image taken from above with all of the guests standing in the round right after the bride made her entrance. Continue reading below for the second unique-ness about her wedding!:)

The second unique-ness about her wedding was her flowers and table decorations.  She used artificial flowers for her bouquet, bridesmaids, groomsmen’s boots, center pieces, ect.  This concept might scare you as a bride because you want that fresh real flower “look”.  It’s amazing how REAL artificial flowers look.  A good family friend of ours, Sauni, has a business called, Arrangements Made. With her, we made all of the flowers for her wedding and had them done 2 months before the wedding! Everything was ready to go and that was just one thing checked off the list.  Not to mention, if you are looking to cut your budget in anyway, this can definitely help in that area.  The best point about having artificial flowers is that they don’t die! Myself and my sister have both decorated our houses with the beautiful arrangements made from our weddings.  continue reading..

The last uniqueness is definitely a DIY tip for all of your DIY-ers AND it is a GREAT money saver when planning your wedding!  We all know that renting linens can get costly and can run your budget up.  Deanna definitely knew she wanted a table runner for the middle of her table.  So after some creative thought she came up with the idea to buy a couple rolls of wrapping paper that she found in her colors at Hobby Lobby, then she cut the rolls of paper in half and put them on her table as a table runner! they were GORGEOUS and you would have never known they weren’t a real linen.  HOW UNIQUE! Hope you all enjoyed our 2nd wedding unique-ness post! Happy Valentines Day, make sure you kiss that person you love today!:)

first look with dad – featured wedding post

we have been booking lots of weddings lately for 2012 and 2013. its getting me REALLY excited for this year’s wedding season. i absolutely love the whole wedding process, i love hearing about the flowers, colors, the cake, the details, referring other wedding vendors,  i love the pressure and opportunity to create something for a couple that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. i love that i am the person who creates what will last for a lifetime. it is all very exciting to me and i couldn’t imagine my business revolving around anything different. don’t get me wrong, i love shooting everything, but weddings is definitely my specialty.

sense it is not yet wedding season and we still have a couple of months until we’re gung ho with shooting a wedding every weekend, i thought we needed a little wedding love on our blog and facebook! it doesn’t feel right not posting images that aren’t wedding oriented on the regular!

what i truly love about weddings is that they are all different, every time i go to a wedding there has never been one wedding EXACTLY the same. i shoot a lot of weddings, so i don’t always remember every single little detail that they do but there is always a one specific thing that stands out to me from every wedding i shoot. i want to share these special unique-nesses (new word! haha) with you! until wedding season starts i will posting about unique-nesses that i’ve found through out my career and hopefully you may find something you want to incorporate into your day.:)

unique-ness #1 – dad and bride first look. i want you all to know that this wasn’t necessarily planned prior to the wedding, it just sort of happened, the bride new that she didn’t want her dad to see her until she was completely ready but the moment and set up was coordinated on a whim. now, this was one of the sweetest father daughter moments i’ve seen. you can just tell there are a 100 different emotions out of her father’s expression from this series of images. you can tell how truly blessed he father feels to be able to give his daughter away to the man she loves. it’s just beautiful.

hope you enjoy this little series! maybe this will be something you want to create with your father on your wedding day.:)
